VIDEO: Oil dumped in Louth river

Waiting for Video...

OIL appears to have been dumped into the river at Louth.

It was spotted flowing along the river at the back of the Co-op supermarket and by the side of Charles Street this morning.

Ken Parkinson who saw it said: “It’s absolutely disgusting. It’s bursting into globules. It has a very strong smell.”

The river bank behind the Co-op is a favourite spot for ducks and it is not known how the oil will affect them.

The Leader is contacting the Environment Agency.
