A piece of lost Louth history has been uncovered.
While making a new sign for Dales poultry shop in Eastgate, painter and decorator Brian Andrews took down the Dales sign from above the shop and got a surprise.
Behind it was revealed an old shop sign saying ‘Hutchinson’.
It is thought the sign could date back 100 years.
Peter Dales told the Leaer his great grandfather started the business in 1865 and they moved to the Eastgate premises sometime between then and the early 1900s.
But what kind of shop was Hutchinson. Does anyone know? Email us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you do.
