Video: Pancake flipping fun in annual races at North Somercotes

Waiting for Video...

The traditional annual pancake races in North Somercotes saw plenty of flipping and lots of competitive action on Tuesday afternoon.

For many years Birkbeck College in the village has hosted the races, with youngsters from North Somercotes Primary making the short trip to take part.

This year, despite the cold, there were five races from under fives right through to the parents.

David Lingard, who took part in the U5s race, was the fourth generation of his family to take part in the pancake races. Clearly he had history on his side, as he crossed the line in first place!

We went along to capture some of the action, and you can see every race by clicking the video on this page.
