There is a question mark over the future of three Louth car parks.
The Cattle Market site, including the car park there and the car parks off Linden Walk and Newmarket, is up for sale.
East Lindsey District Council has decided to ‘test the market to see who is interested.’
The land has been valued at anywhere between £7m and £12m.
Some have expressed concern about the potential loss of three car parks if the land was developed.
If the car parking provision was not replaced it would mean shoppers and people dropping their children off at school would have to find alternative places to park.
ELDC has said interest in the site has been shown ‘by a number of supermarket operators keen to develop a store in Louth’.
