Video: Town crier opens glitzy new cupcakery in Mablethorpe

Waiting for Video...

June Brett’s passion for creating cakes has gone from a hobby and a dream to a reality after opening Lady B’s Cupcakery.

Her new business empire in Mablethorpe’s Victoria Road will showcase her range of talents across a range of unique and carefully hand crafted cakes and cupcakes.

June aims to help you realise your dream cake creation and transform it into a reality, all over a cup of a coffee and a cupcake in her glamorous cake showroom.

June said: “Lady B’s Cupcakery adds a little bit of glitz and glam to Mablethorpe, I wasn’t certain if Mablethorpe was ready for me, but I decided to go for it.

“I wanted to create a glamorous setting so the people of Mablethorpe could have a little piece of escapism from the demands of everyday life.”

June’s dream journey began 18 months ago where she was holding down a full-time job and making cakes as a hobby from her home in Trusthorpe.

But her hobby soon turned into a passion and from then on spent every waking moment thinking about cakes.

June explained: “It all started when I made my daughter a cake for her birthday and then it just spiralled on from there.

“It came to the point where I had to make a choice between a job I didn’t really enjoy or turning my passionate hobby into a business.

“So I decided to take the plunge and 18-months later, my business Lady B’s Cupcakery in Mablethorpe is born, it seemed the next logical step.”

June’s cake creating has taken the coast by storm, specially when she was recognised for winning an International Gold Award in the Cake International Competition at the NEC in Birmingham recently.

June added: “It’s a very surreal feeling to have my business officially open and the amount of support I have received has been overwhelming.

“I really wanted to give something back to people that started me off and to my local community.”

Lady B’s Cupcakery will be open for business today (Wednesday) and will open from Tuesday-Saturday during the winter months and will go from five days to seven in the summer.

For more information about the cakes that June creates, pop into her shop in Victoria Road or give her a call on 07837 767721.
