Waggon Wheelers complete Lindsey Trail to raise £1,225 for meningitis research
The Waggon Wheelers completed the 75 mile Lindsey Trail cycle ride in aid of meningitis and raised £1,225 thanks to fantastic support.
The weekend started at the Waggon and Horses pub in South Reston where the group had breakfast to help fuel them for the event.
They then made their way to South Ormsby which was the starting point of the Lindsey Trail route.
Taking part were Charlotte Riley, Paul Graves, Chris Leonard, Julie O’Donnell, Alistair Harvey, Travis Hesketh, Richard Glover, Hans Mitchell, Amy Drewery, Paul Drewery, Andy Dale, JJ, John Reetham, Phil Kemp and Malcolm Willison.
Josh Hesketh and Ed Clarke did the ride on the Sunday all in one day and they would like to thank the lady who provided them with tea and biscuits when Josh’s bike broke and he had to wait for a replacement. They also thank the lady who gave them a banana each after they helped fix her car on the route.
Sam Young and Laura Gray joined the group cycling just for a fun day out on the Saturday.
The cyclists thanked Brenda Huckle and her team at Walesby Woodlands Caravan Park for their hospitality, helpers Sher Hesketh, Sam Drewery and Julie Harvey and The Chase pub in Market Rasen.
Charlotte Riley said: “We are all very pleased with the money we raised and would like to say a huge thank you to all involved and all who donated.”
