Week-long refurbishment will revamp Louth Post Office

Post Office chiefs are promising a modern new layout for Louth’s main branch when a refurbishment is complete later this month.
The Northgate site will close on Monday, March 11 for a week long refurbishment programme as part of the Post Office’s revamp of 6,000 branches.
As part of plans to modernise the network and extend the opening hours for customers Louth Post Office will have four serving positions, a mixture of screened and open plan, with a Post Office serving point at the retail till - a new concept for delivering Post Office services alongside retail transactions during shop opening hours.
Post Office customers will also benefit from opening hours being extended on Saturday afternoon until 5.30pm.
Post Office regional network manager for Central England, Adrian Wales, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Louth and we are confident that this new modern Post Office service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.
“This modernisation is part of a three-year investment programme, the largest in the history of the Post Office, that will see around 6000 branches (about half the Post Office network) converting to new-style branches. This investment makes a commitment to no more branch closure programmes.”
Louth Post Office is scheduled to reopen at the current site on Monday, March 18 March at 9am, closing at 5.30pm on March 11.
During that time customeers are asked to use alternative Post Offices at:
• Manby Post Office - Carlton Road, Manby, Louth, LN11 8HG
• Brackenborough Road Post Office - 8 Brackenborough Road, Louth, LN11 0AE
New Opening times of Northgate Post Office:
Mondays 8.30am to 5.30pm
Tuesday - Saturday 9am to 5.30pm
