Weekend heatwave gives a boost to Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea businesses

HUNDREDS of people enjoyed the weekend heatwave by descending on the beaches of Mablethorpe and Sutton on Sea.
The Met Office confirmed highs of 19 degrees at nearby Wainfleet on Sunday.
Traders enjoyed a welcome boost to the coffers with the extra business ahead of this weekend’s Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.
Mablethorpe’s Town Manager Karen Froggatt said: “It was great to see so many people out and about in Mablethorpe this weekend. The unusual weather pattern this year has not been advantageous for businesses in Mablethorpe and the sunshine certainly brings the visitors in which is the boost we need for the local economy.
“Sunshine is a very important aspect for businesses in a seaside resort and all our fingers are crossed for good weather over the bank holiday weekend.
“There’s so much going on with Diamond Jubilee celebrations so it will be busy but great weather always bring visitors flocking to the coast which is what we want to see.”
But the weather for the Diamond Jubilee weekend is predicted to only reach highs of 11 or 12 degrees, forecasters warn.
