The Louth Area Autism Family Support Group, which is due to launch on April 12 at the Trinity Centre, received £200 to help with their start-up costs. When launched, the group will provide support for parents who have children with autism.

A cheque for £400 went to the Louth Dolphins Swimming Club, who Coun Makinson-Sanders described as ‘a credit to the town’.

Meanwhile the Louth and District Gardening Society, which is in its 24th year and boasts over 50 members, picked up £200 and the Louth Cottage Garden Allotment Association, which has over 150 members, received £300.

The Louth and District Help for Homeless Group provides interest free loans for people who find themselves in the grim situation of being homeless. Mrs Makinson-Sanders handed over £500 to the cause.

A grant worth £400 went to the Louth and District Concert Society to help their bid to recruit more young people. The society puts on six classical concerts every year in the town.

A biggest grant was given to the East Lindsey Citizens Advice Bureau. Coun Makinson-Sanders handed over £1,000 to help their efforts to keep local offices open, and to give free help and advise to people who find themselves in all sorts of difficult situations.

A grant of £100 went to the East Lindsey Domestic Abuse Service, who provide refuge and support for women and children who are the victims of domestic abuse.
