Youngsters enjoy National Play Day at Meridian Leisure Centre Louth

OVER 1,000 local youngsters of all ages packed into the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth last week to celebrate National Play Day.

Play day is the annual celebration of children’s right to play and a campaign that promotes better play opportunities for children and young people across the UK.

The Meridian Lesiure Centre hosted a wide variety of activities throughout the day including arts and crafts, bouncy extravaganza and the popular Funk Bus.

A number of Play Rangers were also out in force to take charge of the outdoor activities going on, in conjunction with New Linx Housing Trust and Childrens Links working alongside East Lindsey District Council.

The leisure centre also headed up a Get Safe 4 Summer Event. The exciting day was targeted at children to provide them with essential water safety information to keep them safe in and around water.

A variety of different activities will be available throughout the summer. For more info call 01507 607650.
