PEOPLE are being warned about potentially heavy snowfalls across the area tonight (Thursday) and into Friday morning.
Snow has already begun to fall in Louth and drivers are being warned a freeze on Friday morning could make journeys into work and the school run difficult.
Mark Peacock, head of AA Driving School, offers expert advice for driving safely in snow and ice: “Driving conditions will be treacherous in many parts over the next few days, with ice and snow predicted for many regions. It’s more important than ever to plan your journey carefully and heed any local police warnings on whether to drive.
“If you do make a journey it is absolutely vital that you adjust your driving to suit the conditions. The key is to go easy, drive with extra care and keep the car moving smoothly, avoiding sudden movements – whether that’s with the steering wheel, brakes or accelerator.”
