A loss of just over £9,000 was incurred by East Lindsey District Council on the England v Pakistan women’s friendly cricket match staged at London Road, Louth, earlier this summer.

Not including an estimated 450 hour’ officer time, a budget of £15,000 was set aside for the event from which the authority recouped just under £6,000 in ticket sales and other income.

According to a report to councillors, local businesses received a trade spin-off estimated to be at least £10,000.
