GENTLE, bittersweet Italian comedy The Salt of Life will be screened at Louth Film Club from Monday, October 1.
The film’s director Gianni di Gregorio also takes the leading role, as a wishful thinking version of himself, a 60-year-old in a loveless marriage and at the beck and call of his ancient and demanding mother.
He tries to inject some romance back into his life, with hilarious, often disastrous results. The wonderful Valeria de Franciscis, aged 96, plays the fictional Gianni’s mother.
The Salt Of Life is Certificate 12A. The show starts at 7.30pm. Non-members are welcome, paying the normal Playhouse Cinema ticket prices.
