LOUTH Fire Station is throwing open its doors between 11am and 4pm this Sunday (August 12) for a special family event – and everyone’s invited.
The community open day will feature fun activities for all ages to enjoy, from fire safety displays and competitions, to demonstrations of the teams in action, games and a BBQ.
You’ll also have the chance to get up close to a variety of fire service vehicles, including the new rescue powerboat, and even brush shoulders with the famous Fireman Sam.
Louth firefighter Paul Brown said: “Our open days are a fantastic day out for the whole family. They’re always great fun, especially for kids, who love sitting in the fire engines, trying on a helmet and meeting our mascots. And any money we raise on the day will be going to the Fire Fighters Charity, which is a great cause that looks after our injured colleagues.”
Entry to the event is free but some activities will have a small charge.
Anything raised on the day will go towards the Fire Fighters Charity, which provides support and therapy to injured firefighters and their families.
