Louth Fulmar Drive houses allowed on appeal

A scheme for up to 149 new homes in Louth has been allowed on appeal.

East Lindsey District Council had refused the Taylor Wimpey Ltd planning application.

Following an appeal to the Planning Inspectorate the application has now been granted.

Coun Craig Leyland, ELDC’s Portfolio Holder for Economic Regeneration, said: “We are disappointed that the Planning Inspector chose to override the concerns of this council and the local community in this case, particularly in light of the robust case put together by the council, local residents and local councillors at the inquiry.

“The council had a number of concerns relating to the this application including the intrusion into the countryside, the potential for traffic hazards due to an increase in traffic flow, flooding issues and concerns over the capacity of the main foul water system.”
