Two local volunteers have been supporting veterans in need after selling Christmas cards to raise cash for SSAFA - the Armed Forces charity (formerly known as Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association).

SSAFA volunteers Gillian Appleton and Iris Dainton helped to sell Charity Christmas Cards in St James’ Church earlier this month.

Their efforts helped to raise funds for other charities as well as SSAFA.

SSAFA raises funds to help veterans and their families who are in need of assistance. They can provide aid for the elderly, or for young veterans who might also be in need.

If you need help or if you wish to volunteer, contact SSAFA’s Lincolnshire Branch on 01159 573289.
