THE Lincolnshire Co-operative funeral home in Queen Street Place, Louth, has won a gold award.

It was named Funeral Home of the Year 2011 at an awards ceremony to praise staff who had achieved something particularly special during the year and gone the extra mile for customers or colleagues.

Jayne Bowers-Siddle from Louth Funeral Home said the team were ‘excited’ to be recognised for customer service.

She said: “I’m still buzzing, I’ve got a big grin from ear to ear. I’m really proud for myself and the team, we work well together and it’s a fabulous award to receive in recognition of the service we provide. All the funeral homes work hard but to be picked out is just amazing.”

Lincolnshire Co-operative’s Chief Executive Ursula Lidbetter said: “Our awards evening is always a highlight of my year because it honours one of Lincolnshire Co-operative’s greatest assets – our staff.

“It celebrates the efforts they make to improve their knowledge and skills and the little things they do every day which add up to great customer service.”

At the awards the society also gave out more than 150 Personal Development Awards.
