A man from Louth has created a new project for himself that has turned a hobby into a keen passion for creating unique guitars, made simply from biscuit tins.

Gordon McCranor has set up Elgordeaux guitars which started off 18 months ago mixing together both art and music, with no one guitar the same.

The guitars have a hardwood neck, no frets and have only three strings. A metal or glass slide is then used to get the sound, which can be designed for both acoustic and electric.

Gordon said: “I started this little hobby up after seeing a biscuit tin and thought it would make a great guitar body, so I put one together, which took me four to five hours to make, and it all kicked off from there. After making a few as presents and selling a few on eBay, I now regularly attend local festivals where I sell them, which is proving to be a big success.”
