A patchworking group in Louth have put the finishing touches to a batch of 20 quilts which they are sending off to the less fortunate in Malawi and Mozambique.

The Calico and Cotton group, who meet at the Evangelical Church in Monks’ Dyke Road, held their second quilting bee to finish off the batch.

They will also shortly be sending six quilts to the Jacob’s Quilt project in Malawi.

Mike Beresford, director of the Zambesi Mission, will be collecting the 20 quilts for Malawi and Mozambique from the group in July where they will then be donated to children orphaned as a result of HIV and AIDS.

All are welcome to the meeting which is on Tuesday, July 9 at 7.15pm.
