There will be a party atmosphere for the Louth Run for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK, this Sunday (June 30).
You can enter enter on the day from 8.30am at a cost of £15 for senior events and £5 for the junior event.
The event in aid of Cancer Research UK last year raised an amazing £25,000.
It is different to other similar events which the charity organises across the country.
The Louth event is organised by a dedicated team of local volunteers and is unique as it has races for men, women and children. Everyone is welcome whether you run jog or walk.
The day starts at 10am with a junior event (under 12’s) which is a 1km route of Louth town centre.
This is followed by the women’s 5km event at 10.30am with the men’s event starting at 11.45am.
The start and finish of all three events is Louth Market Place.
A goodie bag and commemorative medal will be given to all finishers.
Main sponsor The Co-op have again kindly donated items for the goodie bag.
There will be a real party atmosphere on the day with face painting for the children, cake stalls and ice creams.
There will be prizes for each event for the best fancy dress.
Theresa’s Treasures in the Market Hall is offering a 10 per cent discount off fancy dress costumes and accessories (with anyone providing proof of entry to run) as well as giving a 10 per cent donation to Cancer Research uk.
The Kings Head is continuing the party atmosphere throughout the day.
They will be open from 9.30am for breakfasts and coffee and cake, as well as offering runners space to change and freshen up after the event.
They will have music in the garden from 11am.
After the races they will have a hot roast meat stall from 1pm and live music from The 4 Tarantinos at 2pm. Families are welcome.
Many local companies and organisations have kindly supported the event by either donating money or donating goods and services.
The organisers said: “The event would not be possible without this support from the local community.

Walkers, joggers and runners of all ages and abilities have been gearing up for this year’s Run for Life.
They have been seen jogging on the local roads to prepare themselves for the event.
