After four and a half years, local Slimming World consultant Jane Rylands-Bolton has said an emotional farewell to her Thursday evening group at Trinity Centre.
When she started the group size was in single figures. It has grown so popular that it is now in the 80s.
Jane said: “I have enjoyed such warm relationships with my members over the years and am really sad to have said goodbye. Gemma, their new consultant, is going to take great care of them, I know.”
“Meanwhile, I am continuing with my Wednesday morning group at the Meridian Leisure Centre. It means that there are now three consultants in town able to offer a supportive, friendly group experience to local men, women and young adults.
“We know the misery that long term weight problems cause, both the physical discomfort and the emotional, mental pain, as we have all been members ourselves before we received our training. This makes us well qualified to offer support and advice, all based round our hunger-free plan which focuses on everyday, family-friendly food.”
Jane is looking forward to spending more time with her family and pursuing her interests. She added: “I try to show my Meridian members that, whatever our age, there is an activity or exercise out there to suit us. I’ve just taken up tai chi and plan to try archery!
