A Louth woman’s contribution to a book of short stories has seen it over take Dan Brown’s latest release on Amazon.
Kiri Mills’ short story, inspired by her honeymoon in Jamaica, features in the Sunlounger anthology, published by the Belinda Jones Travel Club.
She entered a competition on Facebook and was shortlisted from over 500 entries before the judges invented a category, Judges’ Choice, for Kiri’s book.
It now sits proudly among the Amazon bestselling e-books.
Kiri, 26, who moved to Louth in June, said: “I have never written anything like this before and I am really proud to have my story alongside some of my favourite authors including Belinda Jones and Miranda Dickinson.
“I have always wanted to try and write something but I never thought anyone would want to read it!”
Kiri’s writing career has now led her to begin work on her own book, but she is giving little away about its plot.
“My main idea for the book is; girl wins lottery and tells no-one,” she revealed.
