A Mablethorpe man has raised over £500 for the RNLI and Mablethorpe Rainbows, Brownies and Guides by kayaking from Withern Mill Trout Farm to Saltfleet and then back to his business, the Snack Shack café in Mablethorpe.

Robert Baldwin was so appalled when the Guides’ building in the town was hit by vandals that he launched into action, paddling for seven hours against high winds and strong tides.

“It seemed I was getting nowhere and really wanted to give in but had to keep going,” he said.
