MEMBERS of the Meridale Youth Club in Sutton on Sea raised £450 for Mablethorpe’s Lifeboat Crew after enduring an exhausting 24 hour table tennis marathon.

Beginning on Saturday at 7pm, the eight-strong team took on all challengers before completing a knock-out run round at the end.

Youth club members from around the region took part in the 42nd annual marathon which was organised and held at the centre.

Centre manager John Monk said: “We haven’t been as busy for many years and although it was very tiring, it was all for a great local cause.”

Sutton on Sea and Trusthorpe Lifeboat Guild treasurer Sandra Felstead was in attendance and will receive a cheque for the lifeboat crew next month.
