MABLETHORPE Co-operative food store staff have raised £1,300 for charity by holding a number of fundraising events during a fun day.

Activities included a banana dip, coconut shy and human fruit machine, staff dressed up in Hawaiian dress for the day and young Mablethorpe footballers helped with bag packing.

Learning disability charity Mencap will benefit from the money, an organisation who provide training and employment for affected youngsters.

Deputy store manager, Neil Bodle, said: “We’ve been busy fundraising for Mencap and we’re all determined to keep the momentum going.”

He continued: “It’s fantastic to know that fun events like this one can help inspire thousands of young people with a learning disability to change their world.”
