A man has been charged with a public order offence and criminal damage to a police car near the Louth bus station, after allegedly hitting the vehicle with a spade.

Christopher Parsons, 21, of Fairfax Road in Leeds, was charged with a public order offence of using threatening words and behaviour.

It is alleged that Parsons resisted arrest for the initial offence before causing criminal damage to the police vehicle.

Parsons will appear before Skegness Magistrates’ Court on October 28.
