Mayor cuts the ribbon for new Post Office

To celebrate the launch of the new Brackenborough Road Post Office, Mayor Coun Sue Locking cut the ribbon at an opening ceremony on 
Friday.

Coun Locking said: “I welcomed the news that Brackenborough Road Post Office was to be refurbished to create a bright modern open-plan branch and am delighted to be here today to congratulate Blair Southwood (postmaster) on his work.

“The Post Office is vital to the community around Brackenborough Road and I’m sure the new improved office, and the longer opening hours, will be warmly welcomed by all the local people.”

The new Brackenborough Road Post Office branch will open from 8.30am to 5.30pm (Monday to Saturday), with selected Post Office products and services available from the retail counter during shop opening hours which are 5.30am-10pm (Monday to Sunday).

Postmaster Blair said: “I was delighted to have the opportunity to open the new branch and I am very pleased to be officially launching it today for the community.

“I hope our customers like their new Post Office and I’d like to thank Coun Sue Locking for taking time from her busy schedule to come here today. I’d also like to thank the local community for their continued support and use of the branch.”

Mark Gibson, Post Office Public Affairs Manager, said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Louth and I am confident that this new modern Post Office will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.”
