A cheque for £300 has been donated to the Messy Church from the Mayor Charity Fund.

Mayor of Louth, Andrew Leonard, presented to the cheque to Reverend Kate Toogood at the Trinity Centre on Saturday morning (February 14).

Reverend Kate Toogood, who coordinates Messy Church, said: “We are very grateful for this donation and it will be used towards resources for Messy Church, including craft and food.

“Messy Church is held once a month and the activities are centred around a theme and are accessible to a range of ages.

“There is also a time of celebration with singing and at the end we all eat a meal together.”

Mayor Leonard said that he was “delighted” to make a donation from his Charity Fund for this year to an organisation within the community that benefits so many local children.

The Mayor added: “This is yet another great example of volunteer work in our community.”
