An upbeat note has been sounded on the solar panels installed at Louth’s Meridian leisure centre.

Since their installation, at a cost of £111,200 in February last year, they have not only saved energy costs for East Lindsey District Council but also generated Feed-in Tariff revenue of £29,588.

According to portfolio holder for finance Coun John Upsall, the installation is ‘performing well ahead of the original forecast and is expected to achieve payback in shorter timescale than anticipated’.
