The Barkwith and District Gardeners Association’s annual mini market was a great success as usual with lots of plants in wide variety for sale at bargain prices, all donated by members of the club and friends.
Flowers and vegetables were all in demand and those manning the stalls including Jean Thompson, Kate Wright, Chris Raynor, Vicki Hearsey, Laura Pearce, Sheila Minns, Graham Mowbray and Pete Stubbs were kept very busy during the early rush.
Yvonne Bryson and Shirley Booth ran a tombola, Bill Minns was door steward and a lovely selection of home made cakes were served with cups of tea and coffee by Lyn Small and Alec Small. Bernard Wright and Les Robinson helped with setting up the tables for the stalls and clearing away afterwards.
Surplus plants were donated to St Andrews Church.
