A ‘minor’ landing accident took place this afternoon (Saturday) at the North Cotes Flying Club’s Spring Flying Meet - however, both people in the plane were unhurt.
A flying club spokesman confirmed that an undercarriage had collapsed following the plane’s landing at about 2-2.30pm.
They confirmed the incident had involved a CT Microlight and that two people had been on board the plane but added: “There were no injuries, no major problems at all.”
A fire engine attended the scene to make sure everything was safe.
The club’s Spring Meet is taking place all weekend with plans arriving at the airfield from about 10-10.30am in the morning both today (Saturday) and tomorrow.
The spokesman confirmed the event would carry on as normal, weather permitting - this year’s event was due to include a HM Coastguard helicopter air sea rescue demonstration.
