The principal at Monks’ Dyke Tennyson College, which has sites in Louth and Mablethorpe, is set to move on to pastures new in the summer.

Dr Chris Rolph, who has spent 14 years at the school, 11 as head, will become the new principal at the Oasis Academy, Wintringham, in Grimsby, from September.

Dr Rolph will replace the academy’s current principal, Jane Bowman, who is retiring.

Last summer he oversaw the merger of the Monks’ Dyke school in Louth with the Tennyson High School in Mablethorpe to become the Monks’ Dyke Tennyson College over the two sites.

And in August Monks’ Dyke school in Louth posted its best ever GCSE results, with 71 per cent of students recording five A*-C grades.

The outgoing principal admitted it would be a ‘wrench’ to leave his role, but spoke of his excitement for the future.
