Students spread some Christmas cheer at the Wolds Care Centre in Louth by reading seasonal poems to the residents.
A group of Year Monks’ Dyke Tennyson college students, along with Mrs Patterson, an English & Expressive Arts teacher, Mr Boschetto, Expressive Arts teacher, and student teacher Heidi Wilson visited the care centre.
It was an opportunity for the students to publicly read poems like Twas the Night Before Christmas to a very appreciative audience, as well as build links with the care home for future visits
Student Simona Parsons said: “I really enjoyed spending time with the residents and entertaining them. It was lovely to see how much they enjoyed the poetry we read. They all looked so happy.”
The students involved were Simona Parsons (Y8), Emma Potter (Y8), Melissa Vincent (Y8), Will Stewart-Grewar (Y8), Emma Love (Y9), Frankie Markham-Cook (Y9), Jade O’Donnell (Y7), Carrie-Ann Leahy (Y8) and Bromwyn Stainton (Y8).
