If you want to read about the reprobates of Lincolnshire then a new book is for you.

It features grisly murders, hangings, smugglers and highwaymen.

Lincolnshire Villains, Rogues, Rascals and Reprobates is written by Douglas Wynn, who lives near Louth.

It features highwaymen like Gamaliel Hobgoblin, George the smuggler from Sutton on Sea who got lost in the mist and Tom Otter from Lincoln who killed his wife with a hedge stake. He was caught, hanged, hung on display in a gibbet and then came back as a ghost!

The book includes the Peter Blanchard Louth murder case of 1875.

He stabbed his sweetheart through the heart with a knife.

The book is published by The History Press for £9.99.
