A new reporter has joined the Louth Leader team, and is looking forward to serving the local community - and he wants to hear from you.
James Silcocks, originally from Keelby in the West Lindsey district, joined our news team last week following the completion of his journalism masters degree.
James went to Caistor Grammar School and sixth form, before moving on to the University of Sheffield where he studied politics for three years.
After graduating, James stayed on at university to pursue his passion for writing, and completed a postgraduate journalism course this summer.
James said: “I am really pleased to start my new role here at the Louth Leader.
“We serve a fantastic little town and I am looking forward to getting involved, meeting local people and covering the stories that matter to the community.
“I have lived in Lincolnshire my whole life, so I have a really strong interest in local issues that affect our region.
“I have always enjoyed writing, ever since I was a young child. Whether it’s short stories, blog posts, gig reviews or news articles, I have always been doing it.
“I ‘d like to pay tribute to my predecessor, Sam Kinnaird, who did a great job as the previous Louth reporter here at the Leader. I hope to continue his good work in my new role.”
Outside of work, James enjoys playing tennis, cycling, and playing the guitar and drums.
