THREE thousand new NHS dentist places have been made available at a newly re-opened practice in Mablethorpe.
This is not in Sutton on Sea as was printed in Wednesday’s Mablethorpe Leader.
The Marisco Dental Practice, based at the Marisco Medical Centre, in Stanley Avenue, Mablethorpe re-opened after having an additional surgery built, and has so far filled over 6,000 NHS places with another 3,000 available.
The additional surgery, which was part funded by the local Primary Care Trust, has been built to meet local demand for NHS Dental Services, as until the practice was established in April 2009 there were limited NHS places available in the area.
Practice Manager, Jill To, said: “By working in partnership with the NHS in Lincolnshire we want to see as many people as possible using the NHS dentistry that’s currently available in the county, particularly those people who may not currently have access to any form of dentistry or who are travelling outside of the county to remain with an NHS dentist.
“Here at The Marisco Dental Practice we know that access to NHS dentistry is incredibly important to people in Mablethorpe and we are working with the NHS to expand provision across the county for the benefit of local patients. We can’t wait to welcome new patients to our practice over the coming weeks.”
The Marisco Dental Practice has three dentists offering a full range NHS dental services. To meet local demand the practice has extended its opening hours, opening late nights and on Saturdays.
