Nostalgia: St James’ Parish Church Choir - 1915/16

Nostalgia.
Nostalgia.

This photo which is an amazing 100-years-old shows St James’ Parish Church Choir from 1915/16.

It was brought into us by Alan Drewell who lives in Leeds, but regularly comes to Louth to visit family.

His father, Walter Drewell who was from Louth, but passed away in Leeds, he is pictured as the choir’s leader and is also pictured in this photograph as the cross bearer.

He is pictured with the choir and three retiring local reverends. Rev Albert Sydney Wilde who was vicar at St James’ from 1859/1915, Rev As Duncan Jones, vicar from 1915/16 and the Rev Charles Lenton, vicar from 1916 onwards.
