Open day for town youth project

YOUNG people from the Nichols Youth Project in Louth will host an open day and launch their newly renovated pool room on Saturday October 15 from 10am to 2pm.

The refurbishment has been sponsored by First College who donated £2,000. Over summer a team of volunteers from the project painted the room, re-carpeted it, installed new furniture and a CD DJ sound system.

One of the main features is a large notice board which will allow First College to display information on what opportunities are available to young people.

The Nichols Youth Project supports young people aged between 13 to 20 from Louth and beyond.

Adi Bentley, the Youth Development Worker, said: “The poolroom makeover has been a great project to work on with the young people. Nichols would like to say a big thank you to First College, Simon Bryne, our youth support worker who organised the decorating of the poolroom along with Hannah Salkeld and Paul Stainton. We hope that this partnership with First College will be the start of something new and look forward to working with them on other events and activities.”
