THE recent opening of David and Jenny Exford’s delightful Walled Garden at Panton was a great success.
They invited the East Barkwith Village Church Committee to provide and serve refreshments to guests.
It was a pleasant summer day, ideal for exploring the large area before pausing for a cup of tea and cake and lots of people took the opportunity to see what an amazing job the couple have done, transforming what had been part of the Panton Hall garden when the Turnor family made their home there. It had become a wilderness and the couple have generated a tremendous amount of time and energy into restoring it to its former glory and they now have the pleasure of sharing it with others while also supporting various charities.
Thanks are due to them for their generosity and the Church Committee was very pleased to raise a further £444.50 for the Church Tower Restoration Fund.
