A FORMER Louth woman was one of the privileged few who got to carry the Paralympic Torch this week.
Nikki Styles, who grew up in the town but now lives in Swindon, carried the torch through Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire yesterday.
She was nominated after her charity work and volunteering. She has raised money for Argininosuccinic Aciduria, a rare genetics disorder, which her first son died of just a week old.
Her fourth son also has the condition.
She has also fundraised for Great Ormond Street Hospital in London.
Nikki, now 39, went to Monks’ Dyke Technology College before moving south.
