PHOTOS of Louth are being displayed in an empty shop to help brighten up the town.
When the former Feathers shop in Mercer Row became vacant earlier this month Louth Town Partnership worked wih agents Turner Evans Stevens to gain access to ‘tidy up its appearance’.
Louth Town Manager Ali Hall said: “Louth is fortunate in that units in good locations don’t tend to stay vacant long. However, we know that the town’s appearance is important in making a good first impression to our visitors and increasing civic pride amongst local residents.
“We also know that vacant units have an impact on the existing business community and therefore feel it greatly important that we carry out measures to ensure these units look presentable and if possible, create a positive impact, until they are occupied again.”
Photos have been taken by partnership members Kate Levey for the display.
The partnership wants people to add to the project. If you have a memory associated with one of the photographs you can post it through the door of the shop or email firstname.lastname@example.org so it can be added to the display.
