POLICE recovered a stash of drugs when they raided a house at Stewton, a court was told.
Cocaine, amphetamine and steroids used by bodybuilders were all found after officers arrived at the property in Manby Road after obtaining a search warrant.
A set of scales with traces of cocaine was found in the kitchen and more than £1,200 cash was discovered. Text messages found on a mobile phone in the house indicated an involvement in the supply of steroids.
Stuart Adlard, who was living in the property, later admitted he had been supplying the steroids to friends.
Adlard, 42, now of Rutland Road, Skegness, admitted six charges of possession of drugs with intent to supply and a further charge of possession following the raid on 11 March 2011.
He was given a 12 month jail sentence suspended for two years with supervision and 200 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay £1,000 towards prosecution costs.
Recorder Timothy Raggatt QC told him “You have been engaged in low-graded drug dealing of class C drugs in the main and you have a drug habit.
“You have escaped prison by a whisker. It is only because of your character and the time you have spent on bail that saves you.
“I make it absolutely clear that this is your one and only chance. You are very lucky.”
Gordon Aspden, defending, said Adlard had never been before a court before and is in employment.
He said Adlard had remained out of trouble in the 17 months he has been on bail waiting for his case to be dealt with.
