A moped was stolen from Highgate Park, Sutton on Sea, overnight between April 2 to April 3 - and was later involved in a collision with an elderly couple.

At around 3:50pm on Saturday April 4, the stolen moped was being ridden along Alford Road, Sutton on Sea, when the rider lost control.

The machine left the road, mounting the pavement at the junction of Alford Road with Marine Avenue West. It collided with an elderly local couple aged 77 and 78 who were walking in the area, and the elderly man was thrown over a hedge.
