Quality cattle at Louth Cattle Market

THERE was a reasonable entry of mixed quality prime cattle which met with a good trade at Louth Cattle Market on Thursday.

The price per kg and per head in the prime cattle ring was for a smart BB x hfr from C W Hurton & Sons weighing 550 kgs and selling for 220.50 ppk (£1,212) to David Sandham Trading.

The top price steer per kg was from a parthanais x from D G Nickson weighing 643 kgs and selling for 196.50 ppk (£1,263) to David Sandham Trading.

The top price steer per head was a Lim x from S A Mossop Farms Ltd weighing 674 kgs and selling for 189.50 ppk (£1,277).

There was only one cow for sale from Sutterby Farm Partnership topping at 89.50 ppk (£671) and selling to David Coulson.

One OTM steer from S J Bradley weighing 589 kgs made 181.50 ppk (£1,069) and an OTM heifer from the same home made 178.50 ppk (£1,056) both selling to David Coulson.
