NEARLY £1,000 has been raised for four charities thanks to a hugely successful charity night held at Woody’s Bar at Woodthorpe Hall Leisure Park.

On the night a raffle and auction raised money from generous members of the public before a number of local musicians went along and gave their time for free to entertain the packed audience.

Entertainments agent Steve Martin was on hand as master of ceremonies.

There was also a roll a £1 to a full whisky bottle and the nearest throw won the bottle.

And a table top sale held back in June at Woodthorpe Hall also helped to raise the final amount of £855.

Chosen charities are the British Heart Foundation, Guide Dogs for the Blind, Pancreatic Cancer and Prostate Cancer.

Thanks were given to the numerous local businesses who kindly donated raffle prizes for the cause.

A presentation to representatives from each of the four charities was then made last week.
