THE Mablethorpe RNLI opened its door for their annual station open day this weekend, with a fantastic turnout of intrigued visitors thanks to the warm weather.
Each year the station opens to show the public the work of the volunteers. They were joined at Sunday’s event by the lifeboat from Skegness and they joined forces in a lengthy exercise which saw mock rescues using crew members in basic toy dinghys.
Overall nearly £1,100 was raised through members of the public holding stalls, donations and other fundraising activities. This will go towards the upkeep and maintenance of the station.
