Rotary Club offers grants to charities

The Rotary Club of Louth is offering local charities and community groups the chance to receive a grant of up
to £5000.

The club has held a Memorial Fund for over 30 years, and the interest from it has been used annually to enable young people who would otherwise not have had the opportunity to go on an ‘outward bound’ type course.

John R Barker, the club’s Public Relations Officer, said: “As interest rates are now so
low, it has become impossible to operate the fund.

“The club is therefore proposing to dispose of the capital of about £5,000 to help established local organisations (charities, community and voluntary groups) to provide opportunities
for young people’s development through leisure activity.

“Requests for a grant
for any amount up to a maximum of £5,000 will be considered.”
