Oscar the barn owl, a 75-year-old tortoise, a baby goat, two three-week-old baby owls and a collection of rabbits were the visitors to the Elms Care Home in Louth.
The Elms arranged for Rushmoor Country Park, in North Cockerington, to take along the pet animals for therapeutic sessions with each of the residents.
They really enjoyed meeting the creatures.
Alex Dunn, Personal Activities Leader, told the Leader: “Animals are a fundamental part of many of our residents’ lives, most of which were born and raised here in the country.
“Bringing these animals in has a reminiscent and sensory effect on our residents, in one case so dramatic, she was reduced to tears of joy at the fond memories of her childhood.”
