Fun, food and fire safety tips – all are on offer at Binbrook Fire Station over the bank holiday weekend to help Lincolnshire celebrate International Fire Fighters day.
An open day is taking place at Binbrook Fire Station, St Mary’s Lane on Saturday 4 May from 1pm to 5pm.
Andy Naden, crew manager, said: “International Fire Fighters Day is the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate and showcase the work that our brave men and women do on a daily basis.
“Every day, as well as dealing with life-threatening emergencies, we also try to make our community a safer place to live.
“This open day promises to be great fun for the whole family. You can meet your local fire crew, see fire engines, as well as seeing a mock Road Traffic Collision.
There will also be photos and news articles on display showing the history of fire fighting in Binbrook.
As well as all the demonstrations, there will be a number of stalls run by local residents, as well as a BBQ and a raffle with prizes collected from local businesses.
Any proceeds made on the day go to the Fire Fighters Charity
