CHILDREN at the Treasure Chest Day Nursery in Saltfleet have planted over 800 new trees to create a mini-forest in the village.

A kind donation by the Woodland Trust meant the kids could plant the trees at the back of the village’s sports field, an area donated to them by the Sports and Social Field’s committee.

The nursery’s manager, Ann Orwin, along with fellow staff Clair McReight and Stephanie Mountford and the children braved the cold last week to get planting.

Ann said the area would be a great addition to the village for the generations to come.
